CHENNAI: Seven wicket scalp by left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja helped team India to seal series 4-0 against England in the fifth and final test played at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai.
Jadeja triggered a familiar England batting collapse in the final session of the day as many six wickets have been fallen in post-tea session. Jadeja captured England skipper Alastair Cook for the sixth time in the series as the visitors’ top-order batsmen caved in, losing four wickets for 26 runs after being 95 for no loss at lunch with match headed for a draw. However, Moeen Ali, the first-innings centurion, who was on 32, and all-rounder Ben Stokes (13 not out) took England to 167 for four at tea, denying India further success by holding out for 12.4 overs.
With India’s main bowling weapon Ravichandran Ashwin not clicking on a flat pitch on his home ground, India were handicapped in their push to achieve only their 4-0 series victory ever
