Startup Company “CrowdTangle” which track hot content on the social media for media agencies and others is now purchased by the Facebook. The purchase is officially announced by the Facebook on Friday. "Publishers around the world turn to CrowdTangle to surface stories that matter, measure their social performance and identify influencers," a Facebook spokesperson said in an email statement to AFP. "We are excited to work with CrowdTangle to deliver these, and more insights to more publishers."

Company CrowdTangle does not tell about its financial terms between both the companies on the website but it confirms the acquisition by posting it on the website. CrowdTangle said that “its technology helps identify stories picking up traction and influential sources as well as their performance on social networks.”

The company says this tool is very helpful for the journalists. Journalist all over the world uses this tool daily. Customers of CrowdTangle include newspapers, television stations, digital media outlets, nonprofits, and sports teams. Users of this startup include giant search engine Google, BuzzFeed, Vox, the British BBC, RTL Group in Luxembourg, and Switzerland-based media group Ringier. Nonprofit organisations like Greenpeace and UNICEF are also on the customer list of CrowdTangle according to the CrowdTangles’s website.

The CrowdTangle platform is tailored to spot news that is catching fire at online venues like Facebook, its subsidiary Instagram, and even competitors such as Google-owned YouTube or Twitter. According to the CrowdTangle, its tools also provide you with the statistics about their own stories and sharing of their contents. No team changed to continue the future operations, but now they support integration with Twitter, YouTube and other clients. Facebook is hoping for meaningful insights to publishers with this purchase.
