On the occasion of Children's Day, Mumbai kid gets National Child Award

President Shri Pranab Mukherjee exhibited the National Child Awards, on Monday, at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the event of Children's Day within the sight of Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, Union Minister for Women and Child Development and different dignitaries.

President Pranab Mukherjee presented the National Child Awards to 31 children at Rashtrapati Bhavan in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

This year, Mumbai-based Aditya Mittal, a 10-year-old student of VIBGYOR High School, Malad, was regarded with the National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement.

Mittal is a chess virtuoso, who has won different honours at National and International levels — Abu Dhabi Masters' International Chess Tournament, World Youth Chess Championship, Asian Youth Chess Championship among others. Aditya has officially earned more than 100 decorations, including Gold, Silver, and Bronze through taking an interest at various occasions in Chess.

He has been positioned number one in the National Science Olympiad and fourth in the International Math Olympiad. Mittal was one of the 31 youngsters crosswise over India and one of the two kids from Maharashtra to win this accomplishment. He was granted with a Silver decoration, a check of Rs 10,000, a Rs 3,000 book voucher and testament amid his felicitation today.
