On the occasion of Buddha Purnima today the  President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Narendra Modi by tweeting on Twitter greeted the Nation.

President in a tweet wrote 'May the message of Lord Buddha inspire us to follow the path of truth & compassion #PresidentMukherjee'

In another tweet, he wrote 'May the message of Lord Buddha inspire us to work unitedly for the peace, progress & prosperity of our nation #PresidentMukherjee'

Today people are remembering the ideals of Gautama Buddha and his noble thoughts will continue to guide generations," Prime Minister Modi said.

"Gautama Buddha inspires people to work towards a harmonious, just and compassionate society," he added.

Greetings on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima, PM Modi wrote.
