The former Indian all-rounder and team director Ravi Shastri has been appointed as the new head coach of the country's cricket team and the news was confirmed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) acting president C.K. Khanna.
The batting coach charge has been given to cricketer Rahul Dravid and Zaheer Khan has been appointed as the bowling coach of the team. The tenure of the three is set to be till the World Cup 2019.
The BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary earlier yesterday told the media "The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) is still deliberating over the decision. There is no final decision on the coach as of now. The members - Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and V.V.S. Laxman - are discussing the issue,"
