Mumbai: 298 mm rain was recorded on Tuesday in Mumbai. This is the highest rainfall since one year since August 1997.

The Santa Cruz Weather Station recorded 298 mm of rain. According to the figures, on August 23, 1997, 346.2 mm of rains were recorded. After that, the rain occurred yesterday in that order.

In Mumbai, Regional Meteorological Center director Ajay Kumar said, "yesterday it was raining heavily. There is a possibility of heavy rains even further on Wednesday, which may be reduced till noon. People are surprised because there is heavy rainfall in Mumbai in June and July."

Mois Udaypurwala (30), a media worker who works in the suburb of Andheri, has said that in the afternoon the train services were interrupted, due to which they have no means left to go to their house, because of the heavy traffic jam. He has said that he has no choice except to stop at the office. At the same time, banker Sonali Thakkar alleged that taxi driver took advantage of the administration's failure to make arbitrary rent.
