Shraddha Kapoor has signed an another biopic which is on star badminton player Saina Nehwal with title Saina. Amole Gupte will direct the film.
Amole told that, "Shraddha resembles Saina. In fact, she was always my first choice. I have had conversations with Saina too. It’s not that this idea popped up recently. I have been sitting on this script for two years."
He further stated, "Shraddha is undergoing training from ace badminton player Jitesh Padukone to get into the character. She is so committed to it."
Speaking about the difficulties of showing the life of a public figure, he said, "I don’t know how aware people were about Milkha Singh or Phogat sisters. There are ways of rewriting stories. I would not like to waste the opportunity by creating something so unbelievable that it seems like fiction."
Shraddha had earlier said, "Most girls would have played badminton at some point in their lives in school. I feel so lucky to be playing Saina, who is not just among the world's top badminton players, but also a youth icon. I can't wait to start prepping for my role."
She also added, "I'm sure it's going to be my most difficult film yet as Saina has spent her whole life playing badminton and in the next few months, I have to get close to the standards she's set."
