The last tournament in which India and New Zealand featured together was the Champions Trophy held in England in June. Thereafter, India has gone on to play a total of three Tests, 15 One-dayers and four T20 internationals against West Indies, Sri Lanka and Australia. And won three test match, won 13 out of 15 ODI’s which is a good record. The Kiwis have engaged in no international assignment since the Champions Trophy.

A very busy schedule for India as they will take kiwis and then host Sri Lanka for a short series format but this is not enough after this they will tour for South Africa. Both teams face off in the first of the three One-dayers at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday and the above-mentioned statistic lays bare the stark difference in the kind of workload the two sides have shouldered over the past four months. As if that was not enough, India will also be hosting Sri Lanka in a three-Test, three-ODI and three-T20 series once they are done with the Kiwis, against whom they play three T20s apart from the ODIs. After playing Sri Lanka, India will tour South Africa starting January 5 for a series headlined by three Tests, as many as six One-dayers and three T20s.
