Nongthombam Biren Singh today swore an oath as the Chief minister of Manipur as Bharatiya Janata party forms a government in Manipur. Yesterday, Mr. Singh was invited by Governor.
On 60 seats of Manipur the voting was done and in the result, the congress party got 28 seats while BJP got 21 seats. While left over seats were got by other parties. The other parties declared their support to BJP.
In 2002 he joined the politics. He joined BJP in 2016 after leaving Congress.In 2003, he was appointed as minister in the state government and retained his assembly seat in both 2007 and 2012 Assembly elections.
