After exposure of corruption case in Aarunachal Pradesh, Kiren Rijiju was blamed for the Rs.450 crore scams. But, project was handled by Goboi Rijiju thus Kiren Rijiju distant himself from his cousin brother Goboi Rijiju. The project was hydro power plant which was fixed with Patel Engineering Limited.

Minister Rijiju informed that, he and Goboi both were from same village and “distant cousin”. He wrote that the letter he wrote to the Ministry of Power to release funds, he just wanted to help poor people working under North Eastern Electric Power and Corporation.

People whom Kiren said daily wagers and to provide them a few thousand rupees, were nobody but contractors with pending money of 30lakh to 1crore with Patel Engineering group. Goboi Rijiju said that people over there were not working and project was on halt since many days and workers came to request bhaiya about their payment because NEEPCO and Patel group were not providing Wage to the workers.
