Navjot singh Sidhu after formally joining the party today while addressing the press conference said that he is a born congressman.

As per the sources, he said, "I'm a born Congressman; from birth, I'm essentially a Congressman. I've come back to my roots".

Sidhu also said "Drugs are a reality in Punjab, the lives of youth are being destroyed" . He further added that "I was not ready to leave Amritsar to fight from safe seats in 2014 though I was offered it".

The former Bharatiya Janata Party member is likely to contest in Punjab Assembly polls that are scheduled to held on February 4.
