The Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice- President M. Hamid Ansari today at Rajghat paid their tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 69th Death Anniversary.

In the morning today, PM Modi tweeted "Tributes to beloved Bapu on his Punya Tithi." To mark this day, an inter-religious prayer will also be organized.

Venkaiah Naidu, Urban Development Minister even will inaugurate the improvement work at Gandhiji Samadhi.

Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi in his tweet wrote "On Bapu's martyrdom day, my pledge to fight always against those who seek to destroy what he so carefully sought to build & protect"

On 30 January 1948 Mahatma Gandhi at a prayer meeting was assassinated.
