A catholic priest, former father of a church in Puthenvellikara, Kerela has raped a minor, class 9th student, for several times who is also a member of same church. An Ernakulam court has punished him giving double life bondage alongwith a fine of Rs 2.15 Lakh.

The crime came into light when the minor girl confessed to her mother, following which her mother complained to the Police after which the priest named Edwin Figazer has gone absconding.

The court has filed a case against his brother, Silverster Figazer, for helping him abscond. Also, a doctor is accused of not registering sexual assault case.
