The Supreme Court today has allowed the woman from Mumbai to abort her 24-week-old fetus as it has no kidneys and can die just after the birth as per the source news.
The court took this decision on the report which on Monday was submitted by Mumbai’s KEM Hospital medical board.
The woman fetus is diagnosed with the bilateral renal agenesis, a condition in which there is the absence of both the kidneys in the body.
This is the second case in which the Supreme Court has allowed a lady to abort her fetus. Earlier, a woman from Thane is given the permission to abort her fetus as it was suffering from the anencephaly.
