Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa's health worsens, In ICU after cardiac arrest last night

Chennai: Expert team of doctors at Apollo Hospital will be monitoring Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, as she was shifted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) last evening after she had a cardiac arrest.

The 68-year-old leader is in very critical condition is surviving on an extracorporeal membrane heart assist device. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister was hospitalised on September 22 with the complaints of fever and dehydration and since then the CM has been there.

Dr. Subbaiah Viswanathan of Apollo Hospital last night said, "she is being treated and monitored by a team of experts, including cardiologists, pulmonologist and critical care specialists".

Since Sunday, huge number of AIADMK supporters has been gathering outside the hospital and praying for the CM to get well soon.
