UJJAIN: One person died and another injured after truck moving from Ujjain to Indore fell into Kshipra river on Saturday. The incident took place in the evening at Triveni bridge on the outskirt of Ujjain.

The deceased was identified as truck driver Aslam Mehmood, 23, while cleaner Dilip Singh, 22, was sustained serious injuries after he fell through window into the river.

As per the eye witnesses, truck fell into the river after driver attempted to avoid a motorcyclist and crashed through the railing and fell from a height of 30 ft into the river.

Local police and rescue team rushed to the spot and pressed into service divers to pull the driver out. A heavy crane was later brought to lift the vehicle out of the river.
