Truecaller which is a caller identification application recently launched an update for iOS. Truecaller has been one of the most widely used applications on the android platform and aims to achieve the same level of popularity in iOS as well. The latest update was said to make the iOS app at par with the Android version but unfortunately when the tests were carried out, it failed to work.
According to experts, there is still a very long way to go for the app to match its Android version. According to the representative of Truecaller, the application is not at par with Android because of a number of restrictions that is in place in iOS. If it has to work then both the parties i.e. caller, as well as the receiver, need to have the latest version of true caller installed on their phones. Along with this both the parties also need to have latest version of iOS 10 installed on their phones.
To make it work both the parties also have to be connected to 3G or Wi-Fi without which the application won’t function. Also the application must be running in the background. Few days back Truecaller stated the integration of CallKit for iOS 10. This new integration was supposed to be the next big step in allowing the application to identify the caller and display its name. But considering all the factors that are required it needs to be seen how effectively the application works does for its users.
