As per quoted by the Defence department a senior Al-Qaeda member was killed by US drone strike in Syria.

 "He had ties to terrorist groups operating throughout Southwest Asia, including groups responsible for attacking US and coalition forces in Afghanistan and those plotting to attack the West,"  Pentagon Press secretary Peter Cook said.

"Al-Masri was an Egyptian who originally joined Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and later moved to its Syrian affiliate. He has on our radar for some time now." he added.

Not much is been revealed about the senior terrorist except that he is one of the masterminds in plotting major terrorists attacks.
