Flood wreaks havoc in Nepal, 10 killed, 40 missing

Kathmandu: The rain is wreaking havoc in Nepal. Due to continuous torrential rains, the rivers are submerged and landslides are happening in the hilly areas. So far, 10 people have lost their lives due to floods and landslides, while more than 40 people are missing. The missing people are being searched. Along with this, rescue operations is going on in flood-affected areas.

Earlier, it was reported that at least two people have died and 18 people have gone missing due to floods in Sindhupal chowk district of Nepal. Nepal Police confirmed this on Thursday. The road connecting the Tatopani-Zhangmu border point between Nepal and China has also been damaged due to floods and landslides. Chief District Officer of Sindhupalchowk District Administration Office, Umesh Kumar Dhakal, while speaking to the media on Thursday morning said that 14 people are missing  and 3 people have been injured. Four people went missing and two people were injured after two houses were swept away in Bhotekoshi municipality.

Umesh Kumar Dhakal also said that the Aranico highway connecting the capital Kathmandu to the Nepal-China border point has also been broken by at least seven places. Dhakal said that due to the damaged highway, our country's trade with China will be affected for a few days.
