Guwahati: A sensational case has come to light from Hailakandi district of Assam. In Hailakandi, a 15-year-old accused brutally murdered a 6-year-old girl living in her neighborhood after raping her. The girl was missing since February 9. The police was continuously searching for him. Meanwhile, his body was found on February 12 in a nearby forest. The 15-year-old minor who carried out this incident has been arrested. This incident is from Sultanichera area under Kathalichera assembly constituency of Hailakandi district. According to the police, preliminary investigation revealed that the girl was playing with other children of the locality before going missing on February 9. During this she disappeared. When searches were conducted everywhere, his body was found on February 12 from a nearby forest area. According to the police, the accused had beaten her badly before she died. Police said that the dead body has been sent to Hailakandi Civil Hospital for postmortem. Apart from the accused, the father of the accused has also been arrested for supporting his son and trying to destroy evidence of crime, police said. After the incident, a team from Guwahati reached Hailakandi for investigation on the orders of Dr. Sunita Chakraborty, chairperson of the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (ACPCR). Who questioned the people related to the case. Ajay Kumar Dutta, a member of ACPCR told that, 'During interrogation, a family was behaving very strangely and a boy involved in this family was talking rhetorically.' He also told that many relatives were living in his house at the time of interrogation. This helped us a lot in finding a way to identify the culprit. Dutta said that, 'It was a very clever trick of the accused. However, ACPCR and police together investigated the matter and resolved it within 24 hours. Police said that the boy has been arrested under several serious charges. Since he is a minor, the process will go on as per the Juvenile Justice Act. Dutta also said that the boy's father could also be involved in the murder of the 6-year-old girl.
