Srinagar: A total of 18 faculty members, employees and students have been found corona positive at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu. Since then all classes on campus have been shifted to online mode. According to the report, IIT Jammu has said it is conducting corona tests from time to time amid a spurt in infections. In an RT-PCR test conducted on 300 people on campus last week, 18 faculty members, staff and students were found corona positive. According to the protocol, all infected people have been quarantined and are constantly being monitored by the medical unit. IIT Jammu said in its statement that the campus has been fully sanitized. Most of the campus students had gone home due to the December semester break. Now after receiving the infection case, IIT Jammu will operate all classes online and staff and faculty members will work from home until further instructions. The statement issued stated that all on-campus are fully vaccinated. Meanwhile, the Covid Task Force, led by Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta, met here on Wednesday and reviewed public health responses and various measures to effectively prevent infection in Jammu and Kashmir.
