27 lakh people vaccinated on first day of 'Tika Utsav'

New Delhi: More than 27 lakh people have been vaccinated with Corona till Sunday evening on the first day of 'Tika Utsav' in the country. With this, 104365035 doses of vaccine have been given so far in the country. The Union Health Ministry has given information in this regard. Explain that the Corona vaccination campaign running between 11-14 April in the country has been named 'Tika Utsav'. 

On the other hand, at least 900 vaccination centers remained closed due to lack of vaccine in Odisha, after which a series of allegations and counter-allegations between the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and BJP started in the state. Amidst the growing cases of Corona, PM Narendra Modi had recently initiated a four-day 'Teeka Utsav' in conversation with the Chief Ministers, which would start from Jyotiba Phule's birth anniversary to BR Ambedkar's birth anniversary. 

The ministry said that, on average, 45,000 vaccination centers are operating in the country every day. But today 63,800 centers were operational, thus increasing the average to 18,800 centers. At the same time, the number of vaccine doses on Sunday is low (about 16 lakhs). But till the evening of the first day of the Teeka festival, more than 27 lakh doses were given today.
