The Corona epidemic had an impact on many areas. Meanwhile, in 2020, the Olympic Games ceremony was to be held in the Tokyo city of Japa but these games have been postponed till next year. Due to COVID-19, it was not possible to celebrate the world-class tournament. 42 places of next year's Tokyo Olympics have been selected and the competition program will remain the same as it was supposed to be this year. Sports villages and main media centers are also being prepared for this. Tokyo Organizing Committee Chairman Yoshiro Mori and CEO Toshiro Muto gave this complete information in a message to the members of the International Olympic Committee on Friday. He discussed with IOC members from Japan in an online session. According to an estimate made in Japan, postponement for a year would cost the organizers an additional two to six billion. Olympic officials did not give any possible figure of the total cost. The inaugural event will be held on July 23, 2021, while women's softball and football events will take place from July 21. Men's football will start from 22 July and archery and sailing from 23 July. The first medal competition will be the women's 10-meter air rifle on 24 July. Meanwhile, IOC President Thomas Bach has said in his statement that he wants to contest the election for the post of President of IOC for the second time. There is no clear decision on this yet.
