New Delhi: Indian Air Force to take action against five of its officers. The officers were found guilty of firing on their own helicopter in Srinagar on February 27. The incident took place when Pakistani warplanes entered India after the Balakot airstrike. Meanwhile, Western Air Command Chief Air Marshal Hari Kumar was leading the operation. Official sources said, five officers have been found guilty in the investigation and a report has been sent to Air Force Headquarters for further action. The convicted Air Force officers include a group captain, two wing commanders and two flight lieutenants. After the incident on February 27, the Air Force immediately launched an investigation into the matter and assured the families of the deceased personnel that all the culprits would be brought to book. A Chopper MI-17V5 crashed on February 27 at Garend village, seven kilometres from Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. Chopper fell into the field and the fire broke out. The cause of the accident was not clear at that time. Two pilots were killed in the incident. The chopper took off from Srinagar airbase. It was reported that the chopper was on patrol in Kashmir when the crash took place.
