LONDON: Pakistani Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid on Tuesday allegedly assaulted by two officials of the Pakistan People's Party in London. They pelted him with eggs and punched him as well. As soon as the police arrived, the attackers escaped from the spot. It is the same Minister who had threatened even a nuclear war by making a statement on India's decision to revoke Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. The same minister had also announced the suspension of the Indo-Pak Samjhauta Express train.

Sheikh Rashid, the head of the Awami Muslim League and the Railway Minister of Pakistan, was attacked when he was returning to the hotel to attend an award ceremony held at a London hotel. No arrest has been made in the case so far. More importantly, the responsibility for attacking Sheikh Rashid has been taken by Asif Ali Khan, head of the People's Youth Organisation Europe of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), and Samah Naj, chairman of the party's Greater London Women's Branch.

Pak Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid had used slurs against Pakistan People's Party President Bilawal Bhutto Zardari a few days ago, against which the youth wing of the party attacked him. In a statement, the two leaders said that the Railway Minister should be of honour that we used only the civilized method of throwing British eggs to protest against him.
