As per a report prepared by Jacob Peenikaparambil, 600 students of Servite Convent School, Hoshangabad, M P attended a webinar on leadership on 11th and 12th December together, organized by Universal Solidarity Movement (USM), Indore. Fr. Varghese Alengaden, the founder of USM, motivated the students on the topic, “Personality Development on Global Leadership” The main aspects of the topic that emphasized by Fr. Varghese are Developing and sustaining personal vision, Refusing to copy, Being unique, Dreaming big, Making the best use of time, Developing self-discipline and self-education, competing with oneself and not with others and Transforming oneself in order to change the world. The webinar motivated the students to ask many questions that are very relevant to the youth. The interaction at the end of the talk was very useful to clarify and elucidate the points already explained during the talk. The enthusiasm of the students to ask questions encouraged the school principal, Sr. Rosy to arrange one webinar in the next week only for interaction between Fr. Varghese and the students. The webinar started with an inter-religious prayer with readings from different scriptures. The prayer service, in which half a dozen children participated, reflected sensitivity and respect towards the multi-religious and multi-cultural social fabric of India. USM has been conducting a series of webinars on Leadership for school students during the last three months. So far 4000 students from 8 schools belonging to 6 states participated in the leadership webinar.
