A healthy body resides in a healthy host

“A healthy mind resides in a healthy host”, is something all of us have come across quite often.

Researchers from Washington D.C, have proved the saying completely flawless.

According to the researches done in the Swinburne's Centre for Human Psychopharmacology, the activity of brain depends on various aspects including physical fitness to be one of them.

With age, the activity of brain starts to decline, and memory begins to weaken.

The brain suffers declination in its activity on aspects of apprehension and risk of dementia is enhanced. Physical fitness and regular exercise have evidently help to protect this slow degradation, with the onset of adulthood. Elastic aorta ( a major artery) leads to lesser blood pressure exerted on the brain.

People who are unfit or less fit tend to have stiff arteries.

What we need to realise is that mental health is as important and crucial as is the physical health.

The mental aspect of fitness has long been ignored in our society of so-called “ progressive individuals”.

The growing cases of depression and insomnia hint towards the severe mental disorders paving their way into our society.

With our varied approach, let us all, as educated individuals take steps towards the physical and mental health of ourselves, our families and our society in a broader aspect.
