Nine-day national tribal festival Adi Mahotsav begins in Leh-Ladakh today

Leh: Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda has told media that the adi festival is being held in Leh Ladakh after the scrapping of Section 370. The joy of abrogation of Section 370 can be seen throughout Ladakh. Through the Adi Festival, the government will focus on the culture and development of Ladakh.

It may be mentioned that after Section 370 is abolished from Jammu and Kashmir and after becoming a Union Territory of Ladakh, the Adi Festival will now begin in Leh. The 9-day Adi Festival in Leh will be held from 17th August. The Adi festival will be inaugurated by Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik and Union Tribal Minister Arjun Munda. According to information, the Festival is being organised at the Polo Ground in Leh to provide tribal culture, crafts, tribal art, herbs conservation and trading platforms.

Through Adi Mahotsav, the Central Government will provide commercial platforms to handicrafts and other local products of Ladakh. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has sent his message to Ladakh through a letter at the beginning of the Adi festival. He said that the Adi Mahotsav will showcase folk dances, fine arts as well as tribal arts craft, Harbal Medicine, etc.
