Bengaluru: Everyone was shocked to see the sight on the streets of Tumkur city in Karnataka. In fact, two police officers were seen running on the road to nab a sub-inspector. The sub-inspector is said to be accused of demanding a bribe in the case. The accused sub-inspector Somshekhar, dressed in half-finished uniform, ran for about a kilometre and ran two police officers but was finally caught with the help of the general public after chasing him for a kilometre. The incident is said to have taken place last Wednesday. As per the information received, Constable Nayaz Ahmed along with the accused Sub Inspector posted at Somshekhar Chandrashekhar Pura police station in Gubbeen Taluk, about 30 km from Tumkur, has been arrested and sent to 14 days judicial custody. In fact, a family case was registered at Chandrashekhar Pura police station, and after that, the police seized the vehicle of a man named Chandraanna. Somshekhar is said to have allegedly ordered Constable Nayaz Ahmed to take Rs 28,000 as a bribe to leave the man's car. Seeing this, Chandrana approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau, and then the Anti-Corruption Bureau laid a trap to nab the accused. In fact, Chandrana gave Rs 12,000 to the constable, after which Anti Corruption Bureau Inspector Vijayalakshmi and his team arrested the accused constable red-handed last Wednesday. After being arrested, the constable confessed that the sub-inspector (Droga) had directed him to accept the bribe. When the anti-corruption bureau team reached the police station after taking the constable into custody in the case, the sub-inspector immediately put his uniform shirt in the dustbin and fled the office. The team then started chasing him to nab him and later caught him on the road near the police station.
