Bhopal: In Madhya Pradesh, CM Shivraj has started considering the demand of Jyotiraditya Scindia. Actually, the Shivraj government is now in a big preparation. It is being said that for this, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan may announce to reduce the Value Added Tax (VAT) on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) from 23 per cent to 4 per cent in the state. Let us tell you that the Aviation Department has made a proposal for this and sent it to the Finance Department. Now it is believed that an order can be issued for this within 1 week. Let us tell you that 4% VAT is levied on filling ATF at airports from other cities of the country except for the capital Bhopal and Indore, while 588 flights land per week in the state.

Let us also tell you that earlier Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had demanded reduction in VAT on aviation turbine fuel to attract flights to Madhya Pradesh and improve air connectivity in the state. Not only Tahi but Scindia wrote a letter to the CM Shivraj of the state to reduce the Value Added Tax (VAT) on ATF (Aviation Turbine Fuel). In that letter, Scindia had said, 'There are eight-nine states in the country, where it is VAT in the range of one to four per cent. Due to this, there has been an increase of 15 per cent in flights from those states.' With this, he also said, 'There are different slabs of VAT on ATF in Madhya Pradesh, which range from four per cent to 25 per cent.'

In his letter, Scindia had also said, 'I request the state government to reduce it in the range of one to four per cent and make it uniform for the entire state to increase flight connectivity and start more flights. So that if this happens in Madhya Pradesh and VAT is applied equally, then I will try to bring airlines together to start more flights from MP.' Not only this but Scindia also said that 'In Madhya Pradesh, at Khajuraho, Jabalpur and Gwalior airports, VAT is 4 per cent while at other airports in the state it is 25 per cent. Which should be brought in the range of one to four per cent.'
