MUMBAI: The Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress welcomed the Supreme Court's decision to conduct a power test on Wednesday in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, which has been running for a long time in Maharashtra and said that truth will prevail and BJP will be defeated. On the other hand, after the court order, BJP said that it respects this decision and has expressed its complete confidence to prove majority in the House. According to the information received, NCP chief Sharad Pawar praised the verdict of the apex court for upholding constitutional principles. It is heartening that the decision on Maharashtra came on the occasion of Constitution Day which is a tribute to the Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. What the Supreme Court said in its decision: According to information received from sources, the Supreme Court on Tuesday directed the Governor of Maharashtra to ensure the strength test in the state assembly on November 27. Now Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will have to prove his majority in the Assembly on Wednesday. The apex court directed Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari to also ensure that all the elected members of the house take oath on Wednesday. The court said that the entire process should be completed by five o'clock. A bench of Justice NV Raman, Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice Sanjeev Khanna said that there should be no secret voting during the power test in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and the entire proceedings of the assembly should be telecast live.
