Jammu: Recently, the state administration started a back to village-two campaign from Monday to solve the problems of the people of rural areas. This gave rise to new hopes of development in rural areas. Nearly five thousand government officials reached the people of rural areas to solve their problems. People from rural areas from Jammu to Srinagar also opened up their problems to the authorities.

Dr. Syed Abid Rashid, Additional Secretary Finance, Malik Market Panchayat in Jammu, asked people to join the Back to Village program. He said that this will promote transparency and accountability. He also inquired about the programs being done to prevent floods in the region. He went to the primary school at Bilal Colony Channi Rama and announced to build additional blocks there. During this, people demanded from him to cleanliness, lift the dirt and provide drinking water facilities. He visited Anganwadi centers, schools, and other places and inspected them. Where Dr. Syed assured the people that their demands would be resolved by bringing them to the attention of high officials. He also inquired about the actions taken in the first phase of Back to Village. Cultural programs based on Dogri and folk songs were held in the Panchayat in the evening. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and street plays were also performed on Swachh Bharat Mission.

Program in 113 panchayats in Jammu district: According to information received from sources, a program was organized in 113 panchayats in Jammu district. In these, the already appointed officers arrived and they heard the problems of the people. District Development Commissioner Jammu Sushma Chauhan also went to many panchayats. He took stock of the ongoing work under this campaign. On the first day of the campaign, the officials went to the panchayats and heard the problems of the people. Sushma Chauhan also inquired about schemes sponsored by the central and state government. Panchayati Raj institutions raised many problems during this period.

136 officers were sent to Kishtwar district: 136 officers have been sent under the back to the village in Kishtwar district of Jammu division. Out of 136, 28 officers were sent by helicopter to remote areas like Madhwa, Vadwan, and Dachchan. On the first day of Back to Village in Kathua, programs were held in 72 blocks in seven blocks. Sarkar Back to Village started in 100 panchayats in Rajouri district. On the first day, the officers read the Charter of Fundamental Duties and started their assigned work. The program started in Doda on the first day with visits of nominated officers in 79 panchayats.

He will visit his scheduled Panchayats to get a grassroots assessment report about development works. The officers will prepare a report card at the end of their two-day visit to a village on a pre-circulated format. The Lt. Governor, Advisor, Chief Secretary, and other senior officials will visit various light panchayats in Kashmir and Jammu division from 25 November to 30 November 2019.
