Amit Shah to move Citizenship Amendment Bill in Lok Sabha today

New Delhi: According to the news just received, Home Minister Amit Shah will present the Citizenship Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha today. The BJP has asked all its MPs to be present in the Lok Sabha from 9 to 11 December. After the introduction of this bill, Hindu Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi refugees from neighbouring countries will get citizenship of India. However, protests continue in Assam and the North-East over the bill. On the other hand, Congress has decided that it will oppose the bill in this Parliament. The Shiv Sena can also support the bill.

The Modi cabinet on Wednesday approved the bill. After the cabinet meeting, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar had said that the interests of the country would be taken care of in the Citizenship Amendment Bill. Javadekar said, "I am confident that when the provisions of the bill are announced, Assam, North-East and the whole country will welcome it."

Congress will oppose CAB in Parliament: It has been learned that Congress has decided that it will oppose the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) in Parliament which will be presented by Home Minister Amit Shah in Lok Sabha on Monday. The decision was taken after a parliamentary party meeting at Sonia Gandhi's residence. After the meeting, Congress leader in the Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary said, "This bill is against the secular fabric of our Constitution, culture, tradition and civilization." The Congress has already decided that it will talk to like-minded parties to oppose the bill. At the same time, the left parties have also decided to oppose this bill and they want to amend it. The party has said that it wants to remove the name of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan from the bill and it wants that refugees from any neighboring country should be included in this bill.
