Andy Murray rules out US Open singles

NEW DELHI: Famous tennis player Andy Murray has decided not to play in the US Open singles. Andy Murray was making a comeback after a long break due to hip surgery. He was defeated 6-4, 6-4 by Richard Gasquet at the Cincinnati Open. "I will not play in the singles category in the US Open," said Andy Murray after the match. I don't think I could have made this decision before today's match. But I will play in men's doubles and mixed doubles.

I just don't know what I expect from myself," Murray said, noting he's not fit to play singles. "After the match, I had to look heavy on my legs which didn't always happen. I had to run a lot in the match and I wasn't as comfortable. I was able to run forward. Quite often I could not even react by looking at the ball.

Three-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray made a comeback at the Cincinnati Masters, losing against Richard Gasquet in the first round. Murray, playing his first Singles match in seven months, suffered a 4-6, 4-6 loss in straight sets against Gasquet. Fans warmly welcomed Murray as soon as he arrived on the court. Murray's defeat showed disappointment among his fans.
