Bihar Social Welfare Minister Madan Sahni on July 1 bitterly complained against the “arbitrary functioning’ of his own department’s additional chief secretary and offered to resign from the ministry. The minister said he was fed up with the “arbitrary functioning” of the additional chief secretary Atul Prasad. With this issue he is likely to resign from his post by Saturday evening over "high-handedness by officials" according to report. Madan Sahni is currently in Darbhanga and is scheduled to return to Patna on Saturday to submit his resignation. "I'll submit my resignation letter to CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday. How will I be able to serve the people who have elected me for the past three terms if officials refuse to listen to me? I'm not here to have a large bungalow or a car. I'm here to serve the people who elected me," Sahni said earlier. Madan Sahni also said that he would remain in the party and "will follow Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's path." Meanwhile, leader of ruling NDA constituent Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi backed Madan Sahni's allegations and said that the ministers and MLAs are ignored in Bihar due to the bureaucracy's dominance.
