Arrest Made in Karnataka Woman Officer's Murder; Suspect Was Upset Over Termination

Bangalore: The Bengaluru Police detained a suspect on Monday in connection with the murder of senior government officer KS Pratima. According to the police, the suspect, Kiran, who was a contract employee with the Karnataka government, had been dismissed from service by Pratima. It is believed that this dismissal led to his alleged murder of the officer at her residence in Bengaluru.

Following the incident, the suspect fled to the Chamrajnagar district in the state, where he was arrested on Monday, according to the police. Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayanand confirmed the arrest and stated, "One suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the Pratima murder case. The operation was led by DCP South (Bengaluru), and the accused was detained near the Male Mahadeshwara Hills. He (the accused) was working as a driver and was removed from work probably 7 to 10 days back."

"We have learned that he was a contract employee and was terminated a few days ago...," Dayanand added.

One of her family members stated, "She was a very dynamic and very brave lady. Be it raids or any action, she earned a great reputation in the department. She recently raided a few places. She didn’t make any enemies."
