Today, when we are celebrating the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples with great enthusiasm, it is our moral responsibility to make an honest assessment of the condition and direction of the tribal people. Let us see whether the Constitutional right which the Indian Constitution has given us is able to use it in the interest of our society, the State and the country. Whether it is the traditional right to water-forest land, the provisions mentioned in the Fifth Schedule, the right to the Gram Sabha, the provisions of the CNT, the SPT Act, the Forest Rights Act or the local policy provisions, we see that the provisions of the Conversion Bill and the Land Acquisition Bill 2017 are there. What is the benefit of the provisions? We need to reflect on what is happening in society. Whether it is superstition killings or extremist-Maoist violence, every year, hundreds of people are killed, kidnapping, rape, human trafficking. It is the tribal-origin society which is suffering. As a result, the harmony, unity and disintegration of the society is increasing the strength of the water-jungle-land looters. The social, financial, cultural and political organised forces of the tribal-origin farmers, the downtrodden-working society, are gradually weakening. Today, criticism of anti-people policies will lead to a case of treason. Hundreds of tribals have been booked for sedition in the name of Pathawadi. Thousands of innocent tribal youth are in jail. The looting of water and land continues to be a big noise, which is also increasing the attack on our identity and culture. There is a need to resolve to carry forward the struggle so that the tribals who are suffering time and society can be brought back in their traditional and prosperous form.
