Its next-generation AC midi-bus has been launched by Ashok Leyland, which is in its premium category and is named Oyster. Oyster has been designed and manufactured by the company for staff and tourist commute. Ashok Leyland Oyster comes with 41 relining seats. Also in this bus the code is standard AIS 052, AIS 140 and AIS 153. It gives the driver tilt and telescopic steering, cabal shift gear mechanism that eases the driving capacity of the bus. In addition, the company has also extended arm rest and mobile charging points with wide reclining seats for passengers, reading lamps with integrated AC luvers and side lag booths. In his statement, Ashok Leyland's head of Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle Business, Sanjay Saraswat, said, "Faster commuters have to give more time on traffic and need in the market for comfortable and safe transportation solutions. Oyster is a product that meets this need and makes the movement a pleasant experience. It's just the latest and better in terms of technology, according to customer experience. For your information, Ashok Leyland has given it the H-Series 4-cylinder iEGR diesel engine. The engine conforms to BS4 standards and produces 127bhp and 400Nm of torque.
