Katihar: Flood continues to wreak havoc in Katihar district of Bihar. Autos full of passengers crossing the flooded bridge began to flow into a strong stream of water. Three passengers, including the auto driver, somehow escaped from the water and saved their lives.

This case is reported fromHulkaha bridge of the Manihari subdivision. The auto rider was moving from the flood-affected area to the safe place carrying autos.

The auto driver has escaped from the spot leaving his vehicle. Rescue operations are being carried out on the bridge with the help of locals. Several panchayats have been submerged due to rise in water level of three rivers in Manihari block. Two blocks of the sub-division, including the road connecting West Bengal, are in the grip of floods. The driver was coming from Herongarh with an auto. Three passengers were sitting in the auto. All the passengers jumped out of the auto watching the auto overturns on the bridge in Hulka. Efforts are being made to remove the auto with the help of villagers.

However, no casualty has been reported in the incident. The water was flowing about one and a half feet on the bridge. An auto went down due to the sharp current. The three passengers, sitting in the auto, swam out. Attempting to remove the submerged auto is in progress. Trying to pull the auto with a rope.
