NEW DELHI: The comments of Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Azam Khan from Rampur Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh also created controvers. On Friday, women MPs from several parties strongly condemned Azam Khan's statement in the House and demanded action from Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Meanwhile, the speaker says he will talk to leaders of all parties on the issue.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has said that he will soon discuss the issue with leaders of all parties. The speaker said that he has listened to everyone, a decision on the issue will be taken soon.  It is worth mentioning here that during the debate on the triple talaq bill on Thursday, when Azam Khan stood up to speak, there was a big uproar in the House. He spoke about BJP MP Rama Devi, who was sitting in the Lok Sabha speaker's chair at that time, saying that those words had to be removed from the Lok Sabha.

After Azam Khan's remarks, the uproar began in House on Thursday. Even though Om Birla had demanded the withdrawal of his words from Azam Khan, the SP's national president Akhilesh Yadav stood in support of him, but Akhilesh too had a bitter argument with BJP MPs. On Friday morning, BJP MP Rama Devi also appealed for stern action against Azam Khan.
