Guwahati: The dispute between Asam and Mizoram is now being resolved. Both state governments issued a joint statement on Thursday. The statement said they will take forward the steps taken by the Union Home Ministry and the two CMs will resolve the tensions on the state border through discussion. The Assam-Mizoram government signed a joint statement in Ajwail. According to a joint statement, the two states have agreed to establish peace in the border areas and welcome the Centre's decision to deploy CRPF. On the Assam side, where senior minister Atul Bora attended the meeting. Mizoram Home Minister Lalgamlyana attended the meeting. State that tensions between the two states had escalated after firing on the Assam-Mizoram border on July 26. Six policemen and ordinary civilians were killed in the firing. More than 50 people were also injured. After that, the utterances between the two states had almost stopped. Both were blaming each other for the incident. The central government had intervened and ordered the deployment of paramilitary forces along the border of the two states.
