Assam: GRP arrests 2 people with arms and ammunition at Badarpur Rly station

Government Railway Police (GRP) detained two people at Badarpur railway station on Sunday and recovered four pistols, magazines, and ammunition from them.

"During checking, GRP officials saw three men sitting under the under-construction overbridge, and when the GRP personnel went to interview them, one of them ran away," a GRP official at Badarpur railway station said.

"The other two people were quickly apprehended by GRP troops. We found four 7.65mm pistols and 15 rounds of live ammunition in their possession. They were from Bihar, and after preliminary interrogation, they indicated that Agartala was their next stop. Our investigation is still ongoing "According to a GRP official. "GRP personnel have recovered four 7.65mm pistols, eight magazines, and 15 rounds of live ammunition in possession from the captured suspects," said the officials.

Suman Kumar and Bikash Kumar Tiwari have been identified as those apprehended, according to the official.
