Dhaka: A professor at a private college in Bangladesh has alleged that a "police officer" tortured her and threatened to kill her if she was put on a bindi. After this, the woman teacher has appealed to the higher officials of the police and demanded protection. According to media reports, the victim, Lota Sumaddaer, teaches at Tejgaon College. 

On Saturday morning, she was on her way to college, meanwhile, on the way, she was tortured by a police officer to such an extent that she felt unsafe. In her complaint to the police, Lota said that the police officer on the bike used indecent words while making derogatory remarks about putting up a bindi on her. The woman professor said that when she resisted the police officer's action, they threatened to kill her.

Lota Sumadder said the accused police officer also tried to hit her with their bike, but she quickly went aside and saved herself. Utpal Barua, a high-ranking officer of the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station in the capital, said, "The professor does not remember the name of the accused police officer. But she gave a number of bikes to the police. On the basis of which the investigation is being carried out."
