A truck illegally carrying cattle is seized by Kokrajhar Police on Sunday at Srirampur check gate. Action on a tip, Kokrajhar Police carried out the information and seized the truck. The truck, which was seized by the Kokrajhar Police, bears registration No. WB91-3014. During checking, the police were able to recover a total of 38 cattle heads.Five people arrested in connection with the case. The accused are residents of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal. The arrested accused have been identified as Aleem Khan, son of Anwar Khan, a resident of Aurangabad village in Uttar Pradesh and Sadek Ali, son of Khuda Baksh, a resident of Uttar Deshnapur in West Bengal.The other arrested are Kaleem Uddin, son of Tashleem Uddin, a resident of Kishanganj in Bihar; Haril Yadav, son of Sankar Yadav, a resident of Katihar in Bihar and Turab Ali, son of Mokbul Hussain, a resident of Dewna, Golpukor in West Bengal. Earlier, Simultapu police have seized 4 cow laden trucks on NH 31 at Srirampur in Gossaigaon on January 14. Police recovered the cows while it was being carried to Guwahati from West Bengal’s Sonapur in the trucks bearing registration number- UP21-BN9171, UP21- CN3756, AS01-6771 and AS01-MC1473 respectively.Over hundreds of cows were being carried in the trucks. Police have arrested eight drivers and handymen in connection to it.
