Guwahati: Assam Police has recovered a heritage Hublot watch with a limited edition of late football star player Diego Maradona stolen from Dubai in the Sivasagar district. Police have also arrested Wajid Hussain in the case. Wajid Hussain fled to Assam in August this year after stealing the watch from Dubai. State CM Himanta Biswa Sarma today informed about the recovery of the watch. Assam Police has recovered the watch with the help of Dubai Police. He said necessary legal action is being taken in the matter. CM Sarma tweeted, "Under the International Cooperation Act, the @assampolice has coordinated with the @dubaipoliceHQ through the Indian Federal LEA to recover a legacy @Hublot watch associated with legendary footballer late Diego Maradona. An accused named Wajid Hussain has been arrested in the case. ' The accused Wajid Hussain is said to have worked as a security guard for a company that stored the goods of a late football player in Dubai. At the same time, he had stolen a limited edition Hubot watch signed by Maradona. He then fled to Assam in August this year. Assam DGP said input was received from Dubai police through a central agency after which the accused was nabbed from the Sivasagar district.
