ATP and WTA release new tennis calendar considering Corona's situation

In fact, after several tournaments postponed due to the corona virus, the ATP and WTA released a revised calendar on Wednesday, according to which the ATP tour will begin with the Washington Open from August 14. There will be no change in the schedule of US Open and it will start from 31 August.

Let us tell you that the French Open to be held in May was already postponed till September. Now its main round will be from 27 September to 11 October. At the same time, the WTA has announced 20 women's tournaments which will start with the Palermo Cup. 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams has said that she wants to play the US Open. In a video shown during the prize distribution of the tournament of the US Tennis Association, Serena said on Wednesday that she is desperate to play the US Open where she has won the title six times. At the same time, 38-year-old Serena has been runner-up at Flushing Meadows in the last two years. The US Open season is the fourth and final grand slam. It will be played without audience from August 31 to September 13 due to the corona virus epidemic.
