Australian tennis player tried to Jump from 26th floor

Former Australian tennis star Jelena Dokic on Monday revealed that she had reached close to taking her own life a few weeks ago. The 39-year-old Jelena, who reached the fourth spot in the world rankings in 2002, wrote a long note on Instagram and shared a photo of herself with tears in her eyes. Dokic defeated world number one Martina Hingis in the first round at Wimbledon 1999. Jelena said she was suffering from a mental illness and attempted suicide on April 28.

Jelena wrote on Instagram- I almost jumped from my 26th-floor balcony and took my own life. I can never forget that day. Everything was blurry. It was dark everywhere. No tone, no picture, nothing makes sense... Just tears, sadness, depression, anxiety and pain. The last six months have been tough for me. It's crying constantly everywhere. I'll never forget that day, I just wanted the pain and suffering to stop. I pulled myself off the edge, not even knowing how I had succeeded in doing it.

Jelena wrote on an Instagram post My life was saved by getting professional help. I'm writing this because I know I'm not the only one to struggle. Just know that you are not alone. I'm not going to tell you that I'm doing very well now but I'm definitely on the path to recovery. I'm going to come back stronger than ever.
