A group of players from India and Afghanistan started fighting after the AFC Asian Cup qualifier match at the VYBK Stadium in Kolkata. Hosts India won 2-1 over Afghanistan after which the players of both the teams were hit by a push-and-forth.

By defeating Afghanistan 2-1 in a hard-fought Group-D match in Kolkata, the Indian team has taken three points to their name. Sunil Chhetri has again shown his magic with a free-kick goal (85'). After losing the match, the Afghanistan players have also expressed their anger against India.

In a video widely shared on social media, three Afghanistan and two Indian players can also be seen pushing before the scuffle initially escalates. Although Indian goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh tried hard to pacify the players of both sides, he was also pushed by the Afghan players. Seeing this, AFC officials rushed to the ground but the scuffle escalated even more. It is not known why the attack took place. The organising committee of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers has not said anything about the events so far.
