Fastag is just two days left to be implemented across the country. All efforts of the government to implement Fastag on the toll plazas of national highways are yet to be seen. Alam is that the toll collection figures through Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) have still not touched 50 per cent. It is to be noted that the last date for fasting for vehicles across the country is December 15, with just a few days left to complete.
Fastag can be purchased offline from various channels such as Point of Sale (POS) from 22 authorized banks. They are being sold at toll plazas and select bank branches on national highways. Also, it is being sold on e-commerce platforms like Amazon. Banks, while first purchasing from the purchaser of Fastag, collect a certain amount of maintainable amount in the balance amount account along with the Security Fund and other charges.
However, the actual charge of issuing the tag is decided by the banks. This is different for different banks. Along with this, the top-up charge of Fastag can also be different in different banks. This difference can be obtained by visiting the website of banks or any branch of the bank concerned. Paytm Fastag is a reusable tag. It also works only on RFID technology. Fastag can be linked to your Paytm Payments bank account and Paytm Wallet. So it is important to have enough money in your Paytm wallet, make sure this in advance.
