Ramnagari to light up with 14.5 lakh lamps on 6th Deepotsav, world record to be set in Ayodhya

Lucknow: Preparations for the sixth Deepotsav in Ramnagari Ayodhya are going on on a war footing. On this festival, a new world record will be created by lighting 14.5 lakh lamps on October 23. This record will be recorded as Guinness World Record. Last year, a world record was set by lighting 9,41,551 lamps at Ayodhya Ram Ki Paidi.

This record was broken by lighting 11 lakh 71 thousand 78 lamps on the banks of Shipra river in Ujjain, the city of Baba Mahakal, on Mahashivaratri. Now on October 23, a new world record of 14.50 lakh lamps will be made once again in Ramnagari Ayodhya. Preparations are being made on a large scale for this. The Deepotsav was started in Ayodhya after the BJP government was formed in Uttar Pradesh with an absolute majority in 2017 and Yogi Adityanath became the CM. In the first year, 51,000 earthen lamps were lit. Since then, the number of earthen lamps has been increasing every year. In 2018, 3,01,152 earthen lamps were lit.

In 2019, this Deepotsav program was declared a provincial-level fair. In 2019, 5,50,000 lamps were lit. At the same time, 6,06,569 lamps were lit in the year 2020 and 9,41,551 deeps were lit in 2021. Now a new world record will be set by lighting 10.50 lakh earthen lamps in 2022.
